Tara's Notes

We first started eating poke when we went to Hawaii for Wayne and Virginia's 50th wedding anniversary. Grocery stores in Hawaii carry several different varieties that they make fresh every day! Once we tried the poke, we were back for more each day for the rest of the trip. Poke makes a nice lighter addition to Tiki Party fare.

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the green onions, soy sauce, ginger, garlic-chili sauce and sesame oil. Fold in the tuna and macadamia nuts. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve right away with baguette slices.

Cook's Notes

Ingredient Notes
The tuna must be very very fresh. If you get the really good stuff, there will be less waste.
The soy sauce, ginger, chili sauce and sesame oil amounts should all be adjusted to taste.
Variations
For a really pretty presentation, spoon individual servings onto crisply fried wonton wrappers just before serving. Sprinkle each portion with the sesame seeds.
